Furrukh Sheikh wins Yorkshire Finance Leaders award

In October, the prestigious 2024 Yorkshire Finance Leaders Awards took place – and we are pleased to share that our very own Furrukh Sheikh (Group Finance Director) picked up the top award of the night! 

Compered by British sports journalist and former BBC Look North television presenter, Tanya Arnold, the awards recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievement and contribution of Yorkshire’s most talented finance stars to the region’s economic growth.  

An audience of 250, including members of our own Finance Team, saw Furrukh take home the Outstanding Yorkshire Finance Leader of the Year Award, and we couldn’t be prouder.  

Furrukh was extremely humbled by the win but also paid credit to our talented Finance Team. On accepting the award, he said: “Whilst this is a personal accolade, and one I’m extremely proud of, I wouldn’t have won without my team. So, this is an award for them and recognises the great work they do to support all parts of our business.” 

Furrukh was also pleased to see Cox Automotive have its moment in the spotlight, commenting: “There was some tough competition on the night – and some big household names up for awards. It’s great to get Cox Automotive being talked about amongst these brands and have an opportunity to show what a great employer we are.”
