The UK’s leading car supermarket, CarShop has agreed a new, two-year extension to its decades-long remarketing partnership with global vehicle remarketing provider, Manheim.
As part of the deal, Sytner Group, which acquired CarShop in 2017, will also be remarketing stock through three of Manheim’s 15 auction sites around the UK.
The two-year extension to the agreement between CarShop and Manheim is the continuation of a 22-year partnership between the companies that began in July 1999. The new agreement expands the scope of CarShop stock sold through Manheim auction sites and will take the partnership between the two companies up until early 2023.
The new contract with Sytner covers all its UK sites of unsold net stock, which is to be sold across Manheim’s three auction centres in Northampton, Bristol and Leeds. The existing long-term relationship and strong performance between CarShop and Manheim led to the additional agreement with Sytner.
Another motivating factor was Sytner’s existing use of the Movex specialist logistics platform, part of the same Cox Automotive family of brands as Manheim. Movex is a specialist platform that connects dealers with logistics providers for efficient stock movement around the country. CarShop is also an existing user of Cox solutions and is currently in the process of transitioning from Seller Advance, Cox’s intelligent part exchange system, to the market-leading valuation and appraisal tools, eVA. eVA connects the online and in-store consumer journeys, providing an efficient and hassle-free buying experience.
Paul Christodoulou, Head of Disposals & Internal Acquisitions at CarShop, said: “A successful long-term partnership with Manheim is the principle reason behind this two-year extension. I’m incredibly proud to have been a major part of forming the successful relationship 22-years ago. But I’m even more proud that many years of collaboration is still ongoing and that we continue with this vehicle disposal programme beyond today and into the future.”
James Leese, Chief Customer Officer at Cox Automotive, added: “It’s fantastic to be continuing our work with CarShop and adding Sytner to the collaboration. CarShop is a business that is benefitting from multiple Cox Automotive services, as we support their vehicle disposal and acquisition processes, adding value across the vehicle lifecycle.”
CarShop operates 11 car supermarket stores in from West Yorkshire down to the Severn Estuary, stocking thousands of used cars.
