Gas canisters, duvets, disposable vapes and a pair of pants stuck in a tree – those were just some of the discarded items cleared off the streets of Kirkstall by a determined Cox Automotive team.
A squad of 10 litter-pickers from the Leeds-based Automotive Services company did their bit over the course of Zero Waste Week recently.
Led by Sales Enablement Executive Danny Farrington, the “Litter-Free Leeds” volunteers also grabbed batteries, signs, beer cans, car parts and several shoes, among other things.
Danny said: “It was a real eye-opener, in terms of seeing what some people are willing to dump on the streets. Zero Waste Week was a great reminder that we should all be reducing our waste and doing our best not to pollute the environment.
“Also, and I don’t really think anyone needs to be reminded of this - don’t leave your pants in a tree.”
