While the latest update to the guidelines will see a number of sectors start to reopen – including car dealers – they do not permit any material change in our operations and as such, all Cox Automotive UK business areas will continue to operate as before. In the immediate term, we will not be making any changes with the exception of reintroducing pre-sale viewings for Manheim Auction Services customers.
Our highest priority remains the safety and wellbeing of all employees, customers, contractors and suppliers and we continue to operate remotely where possible, and with robust COVID-secure processes where colleagues are on-site or interacting with customers.
Manheim Auction Services customers can once again book an appointment for pre-sale viewings at all of our sites (with the exception of Bruntingthorpe). Our Simulcast online auction programme continues on a ‘click and collect’ basis and our Accelerate customer support programme remains in place. It is currently anticipated that a physical sales programme will recommence in the second half of the year; details will be shared in due course.
RMS and Dealer Auction are operating as normal. Dealer Auction customers are encouraged to liaise carefully with sellers to ensure they are arranging collections that are safe and in line with the guidance at that time.
Manheim Vehicle Services, Manheim Inspection Services and Movex are also operating as normal. The teams continue to work closely with customers to ensure processes are aligned, in particular with regards to vehicle inspections, collections and handovers.
NextGear Capital is operating as usual and there are no changes in terms of how dealers can use their facility to fund vehicles. The field team remains in place to support individual customers, while head office colleagues continue to work from home.
Modix, Codeweavers and eVA Valuations & Appraisals are each operating at full capacity, supporting our retail customers with their digital sales capability and programmes.
Money4YourMotors – our car buying team remains operational with team members working to COVID-secure guidelines to keep themselves and customers safe.
We continue to follow the UK Government advice and will provide a further update as we approach the next milestone (stage 3) on the roadmap on or before 17th May.
